The Carousel Institute of Arts (C.I.A.)
Ringmaster Residency
SCREAM IF YOU WANT TO GO FASTER!
Are you brave enough to spend an extended time living and working closely with the Ringmasters? You will experience low impact living and assist with basic construction and development work whilst tending to the sheep, walking the dogs, talking about art and doing a lot of artwork. An interest in ceramics, clay, plaster and wool fibre is an advantage. Generally you will be getting to know the Ringmaster in all their flatulent glory, throughout an intensely relaxing extended period of art-making fun.
Throughout you will have the opportunity to develop your own artwork. Including seeking and participating in a variety of exhibiting opportunities.
Apply with an outline of why you would want to attend the Ringmaster Residency, what you have to offer, the work you would like to explore, and some images of your current output.
The Ringmaster Residency is a negotiation of time and work and living. Artists applying for the residency are encouraged to consider ways in which they can support themselves financially, and contribute to the (C.I.A.) social sculpture. We also expect that potential artists consider ways in which they can 'pay it forwards' beyond the residential opportunity.
It is expected that residents will be selected from interested artists who complete the shorter residencies.
Drop us a message in the chat if you are interested.

Why the Ringmaster?
This is our attempt to step out of the world of commercialism, consumerism and fast living. Share a little of your life experiencing woodlands, mountains, sea, fresh air, sunrise, sunsets, darkness, rain and thoughts about art. The chaotic nature of being human with social structure.... and life
